Commercial and industrial businesses have tremendous potential to realize cost savings through improving the energy efficiency of their facilities without sacrificing productivity. By conducting a comprehensive technical energy analysis of your building and reviewing your rate components, we can help you make smart decisions for your operations.

Our Energy Management Services are designed to promote the wise use of electricity by providing recommendations for energy cost savings customized for your business. We’ll analyze your energy consumption and, more importantly, recommend how to improve your facility’s usage patterns and more efficiently manage your energy costs.

And, we provide our services at no cost to your business.

An energy engineer from our power supplier, Wisconsin Public Power Inc., will inspect your facility and suggest cost-effective ways to reduce your monthly energy bill. We’ll provide an in-depth analysis of your operation’s energy use and a detailed report outlining specific recommendations and projected savings.

Working with you, we’ll break down the various components of your rate schedule to maximize your opportunities for savings. We’ll examine your demand and energy charges and your load factor, and discuss methods to reduce electrical peaks and shift usage to off-peak hours when the price of power is typically much lower.

From conducting energy audits and metering specific equipment to analyzing energy usage trends and reviewing electric rate comparisons, we’ll supply the technical assistance needed to identify valuable opportunities to cut your energy costs and enhance your profitability.

In many cases, implementing the efficiency measures can be achieved with little or no investment. For larger initiatives, we’ll review equipment options with you, provide cost estimates, supply energy-saving projections and calculate payback periods. We’ll even return to verify the actual savings following the completion of your conservation projects.

Whether you’re upgrading equipment, renovating your facility, thinking about expanding or simply looking to reduce your energy costs, give us a call. We’ll put our energy expertise to work for you to identify efficiency opportunities that will improve your bottom line.

Shared Savings Program

The Efficiency Improvement Incentive program is designed to help business customers enhance the energy efficiency of their facilities and improve their bottom line in the process.

When you are planning efficiency improvement projects in your facility, we can help you determine the potential cost savings and payback, and even assist in evaluating new equipment options. If the project will reduce energy consumption and power demand during our peak periods, you may be eligible for a cash incentive.

To qualify for an incentive, customers should receive pre-approval prior to implementing any efficiency improvements. Many types of efficiency improvement projects are eligible. Eligible measures include, but are not limited to:

Minimum efficiency requirements and other terms and conditions apply. For more information, contact WPPI Energy representative, Beth Carlson, at (608) 834-4500 or via email at bcarlson@wppienergy.org.

Focus on Energy also offers financial incentives to eligible business customers for installing qualifying energy efficiency measures. These measures include a variety of technologies including energy efficient lighting, motors, compressed air, and HVAC equipment.

Incentives are also available for maintaining equipment and studying the feasibility of a proposed energy efficiency project.

To find out more, visit Wisconsin Focus on Energy or call (800) 762-7077.

We, along with our power supplier, WPPI Energy, have committed significant funding to our Request for Proposals (RFP) for Energy Efficiency. The program is designed to encourage investment by large commercial and industrial utility customers in energy efficient improvements. Up to $250,000 of incentive funding is available for each bid cycle.

The RFP seeks large efficiency projects that reduce annual total energy consumption by 100,000 kilowatt-hours or more, and/or projects that will reduce the on-peak electrical demand by at least 20 kilowatts from 1 PM to 4 PM during the months of June, July, and August

Proposals may include multiple energy saving measures. Proposals may include energy savings measures from multiple facilities, as long as each facility is in a WPPI Energy member service and is owned and operated by the same parent company.

RFP for Energy Efficiency

Many businesses delay the replacement or improvement of inefficient equipment and building components because the initial purchase costs are perceived as an obstacle. Despite attractive returns on investment and other long-term benefits of energy efficiency projects, many customers simply cannot pursue energy cost reduction opportunities because of these “first-cost” barriers.

The Shared Savings Program is designed to help commercial customers overcome these initial cost barriers by providing up-front capital, based on estimated energy savings, to advance energy efficiency improvements. Projects may include any new electrical energy-saving or demand-reducing measure that results in lasting impacts for the facility. All projects must meet our minimum energy efficiency requirements for consideration for Shared Savings funding.

Under the program, a customer may receive from $2,500 up to $50,000 to implement qualifying projects. The customer then repays the funding through sixty equal installments on their monthly utility bill. A 2% annual fee, compounded monthly, is included in the payments. Often the payments are less than the energy cost savings, resulting in a positive cash flow for the customer.

Customers that have at least a three-year, clean payment history with the utility are eligible for this program. In addition, a full credit review will be performed before Shared Savings funding is provided.

Our Energy Services Representative can assist you in determining whether this program would be a good fit for your efficiency project and your business.
